Wordle: Texas Symbols

Do you know about Wordle? It's a fantastic way for students to display research information or descriptive words about themselves or any other topic they might be studying. Creating in Wordle is so simple. Go to Wordle and click on "Create". Simply type in the words you want displayed in the big empty box. Once you are finished, click on "Go". Your Wordle display will be created. You can edit the font, the color and the arrangement. The updates will happen immediately on your screen. When you are finished, simply press "print". It's easy to Wordle!

Wordle Tip: To make a specific word bigger than the others (like Texas in my example), simply type the word several times. I included the word Texas 4 times on the list of words - so it's 4 times bigger than the other words that were only listed once.

Curriculum Tip: This would be a great way to present research information for example, the 4th graders' Famous Texan Unit. Once information has been gathered, students can enter "the facts" into Wordle, then print their results.
